Maria graduated in 1999 from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, completed a postgraduate degree in Organizational Tax Management from the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão in 2002 and attended an Advanced postgraduate course in Tax Law from the Institute of Economic, Financial and Tax Law from the Faculty of Law of Lisbon in 2008. He completed his internship at Vasconcelos, F. Sá Carneiro, Fontes & Associados.
She was then a Lawyer in the Tax Department of Uria Menéndez and, later, at Serra Lopes, Cortes Martins & Associados. Since 2007, she has worked as a lawyer in individual practice, in the area of taxation.
She is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association.
Speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish.
